Johnny Depp and Tim Burton team up once again for a revamping of Alice’s trip down the rabbit hole. This highly-anticipated fantasy looks…well…really Tim Burton-ish. And for most, that’s not a bad thing. Shown in 2-D, digital 3-D, and 3-D IMAX, depending on the location. |

If you’re having Harry Potter withdrawal, this might satiate your craving. Based on the first of series of popular books for pre-teens and older, and directed by Chris Columbus (responsible for two Harry Potter outings), it should score with its target audience. |

The Wolfman

Remake of the 1941 classic monster movie, this time starring Benecio Del Toro (Lawrence Talbot), Anthony Hopkins (Sir John Talbot), and Emily Blunt (Gwen Cunliffe). It’s not a good sign that this film’s release date has been changed at least four times, had numerous scenes re-shot, and was not screened in advance for the critics. |

Crazy Heart

An average film with two great performances: Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal, both Oscar nominated for this film. Bridges plays Bad Blake, a chain-smoking, serial-drinking county music performer who’s reduced to playing bowling alleys. Gyllenhaal is the journalist who wants an interview. You can pretty much figure out the rest, but these two performers make it all worthwhile. |

The late John Lennon and George Harrison made up half of the Beatles, one of the most popular, influential bands in history and the Cincinnati Pops under Associate Conductor Steven Reineke will celebrate these legendary songwriters both as members of the Fab Four and as solo artists in a special “Pops Remix” concert program on April 11 and 18, 2010, the 70th anniversary of John Lennon’s birth year.
Joining Mr. Reineke and the Pops for this poignant and nostalgic look at some of the musical gifts left by these two departed Beatles are Jeans n’ Classics, a group of veteran rock musicians who will also perform A Night at Woodstock with the Pops at Riverbend this summer.

The program opens with Mr. Kerr and Mr. Nel performing Mozart's Sonata in B-flat major. |
