Six@Six is a community lecture series featuring NKU students and faculty talking about their research and creative activity. From sports rivalries to Celtic burial practices, our new season will inform and intrigue you as we bring a little bit of NKU to the community audiences and locations. After surveying over 10,000 fans of collegiate and professional sports, Dr. Joe Cobbs and his students have uncovered 11 elements that frequently contribute to rivalries between teams. While fans view certain elements as more important to their favorite team's top rivalry (e.g., frequency of play), other elements seem to fuel animosity between fan groups. Their research on the topic has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and several other national and international media outlets. Joining Dr. Cobbs for this interactive discussion will be recent NKU Sports Business graduate Diego Martinez del Campo, who was honored as the Haile/US Bank College of Business Outstanding Graduate for 2017-18 and now serves as the Operations Assistant for FC Cincinnati. Attendees of this lecture will receive a FREE ticket to the NKU Women's Soccer game against Oakland, beginning at 7 p.m. the same evening. These tickets will be handed out after the lecture for those who wish to attend the game.
