Kicking off a holiday full of music,
the 2007 AROUND CINCINNATI CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
is ready to again highlight some of the area’s
most talented musicians performing original and traditional
holiday music for WVXU listeners. In addition to a few
newly recorded pieces, host and producer Lee Hay is
incorporating some of last year’s favorite first-time
performances, as well as seasonal songs from CD’s
released by local musicians. There will also be several
Christmas readings, including the traditional guest
star reciting “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
This year’s guest reader is actor
Michael Burnham. The music used during this year’s
reading is from the original musical “Frog Princess,”
now on stage at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati.
The program airs on Monday, December 24
at 7:00 p.m.
Immediately following at 9:00 will be
a special re-broadcast of a classic Christmas version of Jazz with OT.
The night of holiday music concludes at
11:00 p.m. with Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz
Christmas special.
