Student hospitalized after shooting himself in La Salle HS classroom

Update: During a televised news conference, La Salle spokesman Greg Tankersley said the school will not release the name of the student who shot himself this morning, at his parents' request. Tankersley said the boy, still in critical condition, is an honors student, with 80 hours of community service.

All after-school activities have been canceled Monday night. Police say although they don't expect to find any explosive devices or additional weapons, they will have a canine team search the high school tonight.
