New owners of Lebanon's historic railway
By Ann Thompson
6/5/2006 2:47:32 PM

A group of investors and railroad buffs bought the old Lebanon and Turtlecreek Railway, and renamed it Lebanon Mason Monroe railroad or L M and M. The restored GP-7 diesel locomotive commuter coaches used to travel between Lebanon and Mason. Railroad president Karen Zerbini says the rides have been shortened, but are more fun with more themes like mother goose, magic, and picnic and more. In addition, the railway hopes to reach out to Greater Cincinnati schools with a possible historical curriculum and literacy campaign. LM and M operates on 14 miles of track, and has access to another 360 miles of tracks owned by the Indiana and Ohio railway.
