Superintendent Ronan delivers State of Schools address
By Mark Heyne
2/3/2010 5:00:58 PM

While improving academic achievement in the entire Cincinnati school system this year is a big goal, district officials will be paying extra attention to efforts to improve 16 low-performing elementary schools. Superintendent Mary Ronan talked about the schools during her state of the district speech today. She says CPS has paired up with the University of Virginia for help in the turnaround effort. School leadership teams went to the university and university staffers have made site visits to keep the momentum going and help keep school staff focused on the improvement efforts. Ronan says the plan is to see growth in all 16 schools this year. Ronan had been interim superintendent before becoming the permanent superintendent last April.
