Ohio has carried out a second execution in less than two months. 37 year old Mark Aaron Brown died by lethal injection at 10:20am for gunning down 32 year old store owner Isam Salman in Youngstown in 1994. Brown had also been sentenced to life in prison for shooting a clerk in the store at the same time. Alan Johnson is a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch and has witnessed several executions, including today's. He says seven family members of Brown's victim's witnessed the execution, but the only one who spoke was Salman's sister, Terry Rasul. Johnson says her only comment was, "As sad as this may be, justice has been served. I hope this is a lesson learned to young people today to not do what Mark Brown did to my brother." Johnson described the execution as "calm, fast and peaceful". Brown is the third man to die by Ohio's new method of putting inmates to death, which uses just one drug instead of a three drug mix that's still used in every other lethal injection state.
