Repair crews will not be working on the 275 bridge at Coney Island this weekend because of the snow in the forecast. The westbound span from Ohio into Kentucky was supposed to be closed Friday and Saturday night. Workers are re-enforcing the twin bridges with 10 stronger steel plates. It’s a project that started in 2008, when the eastbound bridge had a several month weight restriction because of a cracked splice plate. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says drivers should expect possible single lane closures on the westbound span throughout next week. Officials tentatively plan to close it at night next weekend to complete the repairs.
