"...he has committed to working hard to make better decisions."
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

A Cincinnati Bengals player, who got into a fight at a Texas bar in May, will not be suspended.

The NFL issued a statement about Cedric Benson Friday following a July meeting between Benson and Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell said Benson expressed his understanding that NFL players have a special responsibility to meet high standards of conduct.

He said Benson recognizes this and has committed to working hard to make better decisions and avoid any further incidents.
