Wenstrup takes GOP policy committee seat

Brad Wenstrup, the newly-elected congressman from Ohio's 2nd Congressional District, has volunteered to join the House Republican Policy Committee, a group which helps set the legislative agenda for House Republicans.

Wenstrup - a 54-year-old podiatrist and Iraq war veteran from Columbia Tusculum - takes office in January, after pulling an upset victory over Rep. Jean Schmidt in the March GOP primary and easily defeating a little-known and seldom-seen Democrat, William R. Smith of Pike County, in the November election. Wenstrup won with 59 percent of the vote.

Competing visions for the Anna Louise Inn

With court battles swirling around them, Western and Southern and the Anna Louise Inn have two different visions for the Lytle Park area in Cincinnati.

When Western Southern executives look out the window they see a potential redevelopment that could attract business,entertainment, and residents. Vice President Michael Laatsch says a UC economic study found this plan could generate 400 million over 30 years.

"Cincinnati's version of Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia or Gramercy Park in New York City and similar to what's happening to Washington Park here in Cincinnati."
