Obama rallies at Fifth Third Arena with Stevie Wonder

Four years ago, then-senator Barack Obama held a rally at the University of Cincinnati on the Sunday before the election, his final stop in Cincinnati before going on to win Ohio and the White House two days later.

This year, Obama - now locked in a tight re-election campaign where Ohio will play a crucial role - will return to the same Sunday for a rally at UC's Fifth Third Arena in what is likely to be his final campaign appearance in the area before Tuesday's election.

Obama to campaign in Cincinnati Sunday

President Obama - who had originally planned to be in Cincinnati Wednesday - will hold a campaign event here Sunday as part of a weekend push through key battleground states.

And First Lady Michelle Obama is planning on a rally Saturday afternoon on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, the alma mater of GOP running mate Paul Ryan.

Ann Romney: Ohio will play a big role in upcoming election

Ann Romney was joined on stage by Jane Portman, Cindy McCain and Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.

Ann Romney campaigned for her husband today  in the battleground state of Ohio with her first stop at a Hamilton business.  Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor and Cindy McCain were on hand.  Jane Portman also helped warm up the crowd of several hundred at Vinylmax Windows, saying she believes Mitt Romney has the best policy proposals to get the economy moving again.

Blood donors needed

Hoxworth Blood Center is putting out the call for blood and platelet donors.

Spokeswoman Alecia Lipton says area blood supplies are at a fragile level.

"Some of that is due to a very low donor turn out. We can blame part of that on cold and flu symptoms going around but also (Tuesday), due to the weather, we had some folks who were no-shows for their appointments," she says.

Lipton says all blood types are needed and platelet donors are especially important.

Health District doesn't need county approval

Hamilton County Commissioners are modifying the approval process for something called "then and now" resolutions proposed by the Public Health District.

The resolutions allow the district to pay organizations it does business with.

Commissioner Chris Monzel says the district shouldn't have to get approval from the board and a legal opinion from the county prosecutor agrees.
