Bar brawl over rent

The folks at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill have more than hamburgers and beers on their plates. According to court filings, the restaurant hasn't been paying its rent.

An affiliate of The Banks developer is filing suit against the restaurant's owners. Court documents allege Toby Keith's hasn't paid rent since November of last year. The monthly rent is $41,066.67.

The developer is asking for all rents, payments, fines and other related costs.

Cincinnati celebrates work completed near new Downtown casino

The Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati is scheduled to open its doors March 4th.  

City officials and others gathered Tuesday morning near the site to celebrate infrastructure improvements near the Downtown location.  

Mayor Mark Mallory said the work is the result of a collaboration between the city, the casino and nearby residents.

“There’s a lot of work that has gone into making sure that this facility fits the community,” Mallory said.  “That the operators of the casino understand what this community is all about and they do.”

SuperJobs hosts hiring events

Hamilton County’s SuperJobs Center is partnering with six area companies to fill job openings ranging from clerical professionals to retail sales.

The following will be held at the SuperJobs Center, 1916 Central Parkway.

Feb. 13: In Living Support will interview for an accounting assistant and direct service professionals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Feb. 14: First Student will interview for bus drivers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Report finds school districts scrubbed data

A new audit released by Ohio Auditor Dave Yost has identified more cases of school districts that are believed to have scrubbed data on state reports.

Four new school districts are identified in this audit: Canton City Schools, Cincinnati Public Schools, Northridge Local Schools, and Winton Woods City Schools.  Those districts, along with five previously named: Campbell, Cleveland, Marion, Toledo and Columbus, are thought to have fudged data to look better on state reports.
