Work continues on the USquare Development near the University of Cincinnati.  

The project includes a public plaza, and some council members and nearby residents aren’t impressed with its design.

Advocates for more wireless and broadband options in Kentucky will once again push a bill reforming the state's telecommunications laws—specifically, removing language that requires old-school land-line service throughout the state.

Citizens for a Digital Future unveiled the legislation Tuesday, which is sponsored by state Sen. Paul Hornback, a Republican from Shelbyville.

The Hamilton County Board of Elections voted Tuesday to issue subpoenas to 19 voters who are suspected of voting twice in the November election, which could lead to criminal prosecutions.

The board also voted to issue nine subpoenas to people who are not suspected of voting twice but are “fact witnesses,’’ according to Tim Burke, the chairman of the Hamilton County Board of Elections.

Most of the voters being investigated are persons who allegedly voted by absentee ballot and then cast provisional ballots at polling places on election days.

David Mann - former Cincinnati City Council member, mayor, and congressman - is running again for Cincinnati City Council, 20 years after he left that legislative body.

About three dozen supporters crowded into the lobby of Mann's downtown law office Tuesday morning to hear him officially announce his candidacy.

"I am not running for mayor again; I'm not running for Congress,'' the 73-year-old Democrat said. "I'm running to be  the best city council member I can be."

Mann served on that body from 1974 to 1992, with two stints as the city's mayor - 198-1982 and 1991.

Cincinnati homeowners pay a fee to the city to take care of trees on public rights of way.  And for 2014 that rate of 18 cents per foot will remain unchanged.  

The full Cincinnati Council will likely approve the measure Wednesday.  

Officials said two years ago residents who live along public rights of way in the city pay about $9 a year to the city to maintain trees along the streets.
