Funeral services are this weekend for Thomas "High Pocket" Turner of Georgetown, Ohio, a star of Negro League baseball in the 1940's.  Turner died Monday at the age of 97. 

He played baseball for the Cincinnati Stars in 1936.  He played for his Army team and after that played professionally in Mexico.  In 1947, he played for the Chicago American Giants of the Negro League. 

Construction could start as soon as next summer on a plan to build an interchange with Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King Drive in Cincinnati.  

The Ohio Department of Transportation is fast-tracking the project and could select a consultant and contractor by the end of the year.  

But Cincinnati officials are still working to find a $20 million match for the construction.

City Transportation and Engineering Director Michael Moore explained that Tuesday during a Major Transportation and Infrastructure Projects Subcommittee meeting.

City Manager Milton Dohoney signed the parking lease agreement Tuesday afternoon that will bring a $92 million up-front payment to city coffers, but council may still make some changes to the agreement.

Tuesday, two Cincinnati council members - Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls and Yvette Simpson - were circulating motions  asking the city administration to come up with a new plan for use of the $92 million in up-front money from the parking lease agreement.

Lynn J. Good, a native of Fairfield, has been named the new president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, replacing the retiring Jim Rogers.

She is the first woman to head Duke, the largest electric power company in the U.S. 

The 54-year-old Good is currently the Charlotte-based energy company's executive vice president and chief financial officer, positions she has held since July 2009. She joined Cinergy, a Duke predecessor in 2003.

Prior to that, Good worked in senior management and as a partner in Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Anderson.

Update 6/17/13 9:50 PM:  Hamilton County Judge Robert Winkler signed an order Monday dissolving permanent injunction in the Cincinnati parking lease case.  Judge Winkler also entered a judgment in favor of the city and against the plaintiffs.  Costs to be paid by plaintiffs. With permanent injunction dissolved, city officials should have "green light" to sign the parking lease agreement with the Port Authority.
