Roebling repaired, weight restriction lifted

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has restored the 11-ton weight limit on the historic Roebling Suspension Bridge.

In October, a routine inspection found some deterioration of one of the beams.  That led KYTC officials to impose a 3-ton weight restriction.

The repairs were finished Thursday.  A final inspection performed Friday determined the bridge could go back to the 11-ton weight limit.

Jones leaving UC for UT

UC football coach Butch Jones  resigned today to take the coaching spot at the University of Tennessee. 

Jones will not coach the Bearcats in their upcoming bowl game against Duke.  UC has named assistant head coach Steve Stripling as interim head coach.  Stripling, a 30-year coaching veteran who joined UC in 2010, will lead the team in the Belk Bowl December 27 if a new head coach isn't hired by then.

UC Athletics Director Whit Babcock said the search for a new coach will begin immediately.  He did not specify a time frame for concluding the search.

New Paycor HQ in Norwood underway

Paycor's new building will be open in 2014 .

Paycor has broken ground for its new headquarters in Norwood.  The Cincinnati-based human resources and payroll solutions provider will be moving into the $20- million facility in the spring of 2014.  CEO Bob Coughlin said it marks the beginning of a new era for the company as it broadens its focus from payroll to people management.

"Paycor has tremendous momentum today and this new headquarter project will allow us to keep that momentum by providing a better place for our employees and clients to collaborate, " said Coughlin.

Jones turns down CU

Jones spoke with Cincinnati media Tuesday about UC playing in the Belk Bowl.

UPDATE 12:45 pm:  Associate Sports Communications Director for football Ryan Koslen confirms that Jones has withdrawn his name for the Colorado position. 

UPDATE:  Several media outlets are reporting Thursday that Jones has turned down the Colorado position.    There's  a link to Dennis Janson's story in the WCPO news section of this web page.  More on this story as it develops.

Jones: I'm still the coach here

UC's football team is looking forward to playing in the Belk Bowl on December 27, but whether Butch Jones will be leaving to coach another school is still up in the air.  At a news conference Tuesday, reporters were told the focus would be on that upcoming game against Duke, and Jones stuck to that when the first questions came about whether he was staying or going.
