In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’ appearance at Crosley Field on August 21, 1966, John Kiesewetter looks back at the Beatles phenomena with local music experts and some fans who were there. Along with the remembrances, you’ll enjoy the Beatles music heard at the concert as well as music from the opening acts, The Cyrkle, The Remains, Bobby Hebb and The Ronettes.

Appearing on the show are:

Scott Belmer, author of the book, The Beatles Invade Cincinnati 1964 & 1966, gives an historical overview of the Beatles visits to Cincinnati.
Jim LaBarbara, known as “The Music Professor” and well-known music historian and disc jockey, discusses the Beatles and the other bands who appeared with them at their Cincinnati concerts.
Dusty Rhodes, legendary radio disc jockey and current Hamilton County Auditor, shares his memories of Beatlemania back in the 1960’s.
Joe Santangelo, whose brother Dino Santangelo promoted the Beatles concerts at Crosley Field and Cincinnati Gardens, reminisces about the behind-the-scene business details of bringing the Beatles to Cincinnati and the Crosley Field rain-out.
Phil Nuxhall shares his memories of attending the Crosley Field Beatles concert as a junior high school student with some of his friends and being inches away from the Beatles in the Cincinnati Reds clubhouse.
Two more Beatles fans, Bev Olthaus and Tom Sandman, share their memories and souvenirs from the Cincinnati Beatles concerts.
