Bacon, Blues & Brews Festival Sold Out Already

Tyler Zoller

The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is playing the Bacon, Blues & Brews festival in Batesville, Indiana, Saturday, July 28th.  This is a  3-piece country blues band from southern Indiana with a large fan base here in the area.  Update: This festival is already sold out.  No tickets remain.  There were only 450 available to start with according to the festival's website.

Here's more from RPBDB's press release:  "The band's brand of rural country-blues is characterized by Rev’s unique finger-pickin’ style, in which he plays bass with his thumb and slide on the frets, so the melody comes in waves of twangy rhythms. Kenny Wayne Shepherd once said “I got turned on to Reverend Peyton through John Mellencamp... he was really impressed by the guy’s guitar playing and slide work. ‘Oh, you gotta hear this!’ he was saying. So I checked it out, and I dug it. He’s got an interesting sound. His playing is great...I really like it.”

Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band is headed to the west coast the first week of August, then a stop in Wheeling WV, before heading to the UK, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, & Germany, and then back in Indianapolis 9/22.  They've also got dates in Lexington & Louisville lined up in November.
