On the issues: "Reducing poverty, increasing diversity and equality and healing our environment are issues I have worked on all my life. They are the basis for all my actions and involvement in environmental, social and economic justice. I am very concerned about the 75 percent of our African-American children who live in poverty. I am concerned about institutional racism. We need to provide more support for Human Services programs and keep our Health Department clinics always at a high level. I will push forward on all these issues."
