Chew On This: Busken Cookie Poll Tightening

Busken Bakery Facebook page
Customers can choose from cookies representing the Republican Party, Democratic Party or the Cookie Party (independents).

Cookie candidates in Busken Bakery's presidential poll are now neck and neck. Check the latest results here.

At the start of the work week, just 100 votes separated Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The "independent" Cookie Party was trailing by more than 600 votes.

This is a change from mid-August when the Cookie Party was in the lead as reported by WVXU in this story.

Busken customers vote by buying their candidate's likeness on a cookie.

The poll is surprisingly accurate. The Busken Bakery presidential cookie poll has picked every sitting U.S. President since it began doing the straw poll in 1984. A Washington Post-ABC News poll released Sunday also showed Clinton and Trump in a statistical tie.

Busken Vice President Brian Busken says "a few people have asked if there would be any hanging crumbs in this cookie poll. And we've assured them there would be no hanging crumbs. We've told them they are welcome to stuff the ballot box and buy as many cookies as they want."
