Exploring The Challenges In Raising And Educating Gifted Children

Being the parent of a child who struggles in school can be both challenging and frustrating. But parents of gifted children face their own challenges and frustrations. And while most schools are able to recognize students who need extra help and provide them with additional tutoring and guidance, many schools are not equipped to meet the needs of truly gifted students.

Joining us to look at what it?'s like to be the parent of a gifted child are Parent Division Chair of the Ohio Association for Gifted Children and owner of EB Marketing Communications, Angela Grimm; Gifted Specialist with the Hamilton County Educational Service Centerand Accelerated Math and Reading Teacher at St. John the Baptist School on Dry Ridge Road, Anne Flick; and, Aric Hassel, a parent at St. John the Baptist School.

The Ohio Department of Education is conducting a survey so parents can comment on the proposed rule that governs gifted education in Ohio. The survey closes November 6.  For details, click here.
