First Queen City Comicon Set For April 16

Organizers of the annual Cincinnati Comic Expo will hold a one-day Queen City Comicon  April 16 at Duke Energy Convention Center.

“We cannot wait until September to share comic books and artistic talent with you all. So we have created the Queen City Comicon! Coming this April 16, to the Duke Energy Convention Center, is a single day event that focuses on comic books, their artists, and various aspects of pop culture,” says Andrew Satterfield, creator and director of the Queen City Comicon and the Cincinnati Comic Expo.

Artist-writer Frank Brunner from Marvel’s “Dr. Strange” and “Howard the Duck” is the first celebrity named for the event.

“His work in the 1970s and collaboration on various other projects rank as some of Marvel's best storylines in the decade. He has since followed with books, artwork animation and live-action television, portfolios, and Topps trading cards,” Satterfield says.

Admission will be $5. VIP badge holders from the 2015 Cincinnati Comic Expo can attend for free.

More details will be posted in coming weeks at the Queen City Comicon website.

The seventh annual Cincinnati Comic Expo returns to the Duke Energy Convention Center Sept. 23-25, Satterfield says.
