WLWT-TV news anchor Sheree Paolello will moderate a debate by Democratic governor candidates broadcast live by the station at 7 p.m. April 10.
Four Democrats—Richard Cordray, Dennis Kucinich, Bill O'Neill, and Joe Schiavoni—will participate in the program at Dave Finkelman Auditorium, 4200 N. University Boulevard, on Miami University's Middletown campus, according to the Journal-News newspaper serving Butler and Warren counties.
Ohio's Republican candidates for governor don't appear to planning any debates.
WLWT-TV and the Journal-News are co-sponsoring the event, the fifth sanctioned by the Ohio Democratic Party. Channel 5 reporter/anchor Courtis Fuller, Journal-News political reporter Michael D. Pitman, and Miami University political science professor John Forren will be the panelists.
Members of the audience will be allowed to ask questions in the town hall-style discussion.
The program is open to the public. Free tickets will be available online later this month from Miami University's box office.
"We are entering a crucial time for Ohio voters. WLWT, as part of its Commitment 2018 coverage, is committed to providing airtime to candidates so viewers can make an informed decision on the candidates and the issues," said Branden Frantz, Channel 5 president and general manager.
