Horror And Heroes In The Media

The latest film in the ever-expanding Marvel Universe, "Thor Ragnarok," will be in U.S. theatres this week.

 

Watching horror movies is a big part of Halloween, but many of us enjoy a good scare any time of year, and get it through films and TV shows that celebrate the macabre, from Stephen King's "It," to "The Walking Dead," "Penny Dreadful" and "Stranger Things."

And audiences love superheroes. Worldwide box office revenue for Marvel films, from the first "Iron Man" to this summer's "Spider-Man Homecoming," tops $12 billion. "Thor: Ragnarok," due for release in U. S. theatres this week, will add significantly to that total.
