Jazz singer Mark Murphy honored on blues show!

This week on The Blues which airs Saturday night at 11pm on March 14th, 2015, we'll start off with a birthday salute to the great jazz vocalist Mark Murphy who performed in Cincinnati many times over the years. He turned 83 on March 14th in Englewood, New Jersey where he's now living.

During the first half of the show, there are songs recorded by Mr. Murphy including "Stolen Moments," "Waters of March," Ballad of the Sad Young Men," and "Be-Bop Lives (Boplicity)," as well as tributes from Bob Nave and Ron Esposito. The second half of the blues show starts off with Little Milton (with a little help from Government Mule), Ernestine Anderson and Van Morrison.  And, the last set of the show features Lonnie Mack, Charlie Musselwhite, and ends with the Blind Boys of Alabama from their Grammy-winning cd, Spirit of the Century.
