After "Miles Ahead" comes "A Kind of Murder." The Jessica Biel movie also filmed in Cincinnati in 2014 premieres at New York's Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday April 17, two days after Don Cheadle's "Miles Ahead" arrives in local theaters.
Biel, Patrick Wilson and Haley Bennett star in"A Kind of Murder," which was called "The Blunderer" when shot here in November and December 2014.
Wilson ("Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," "Fargo") plays an unhappily married New York architect in the 1960s fascinated with an unsolved murder. His life quickly unravels when his wife (Biel) is found dead at the bottom of a cliff, and police attempt to charge him with both murders.
The Tribeca publicity calls the film, directed by Andy Goddard ("Downton Abbey"), a "Hitchcockian thriller." Scenes were shot throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, including the Marianne Theatre in Bellevue and a New Richmond restaurant.
The script was adapted from Patricia Highsmith's novel, "The Blunderer." Cate Blanchett's "Carol," filmed here in spring of 2014, also was based on a Highsmith novel, "The Price of Salt." Christine Vanchon of Killer Films was a producer on both movies.
"A Kind of Murder" will screen April 17, 18, 19 and 21in New York area.
