A local and historical look at World War I in this 100th anniversary year

July 28 marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. The world-wide conflict resulted in more than thirty-seven million casualties, and dramatically altered the social and political landscape globally. It also influenced art, culture, medicine and virtually every other aspect of life. Joining us to look at what was originally deemed the war to end all wars,? and how it has shaped our history, is University of Cincinnati Associate Professor of History Dr. Elizabeth Frierson; Dr. Ethan Katz, UC assistant professor of history; and Scott Gampfer, director of the Cincinnati History Library and History Collections at the Cincinnati Museum Center. Assia Johnson, Public Relations and Social Media coordinator with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center also joins us, to discuss the Center?'s online exhibit, Cincinnati?'s Soldiers: Men and Women in the First World War.
