The final steel beam on Miami University's new student center is now in place. The support was placed yesterday during a special "topping out" ceremony.
Following tradition, the beam was painted white and signed by key contributors as well as university officials and anyone who came by before the ceremony.
Miami President David Hodge says, “When we talk about old Miami, new Miami, this is what we talk about — all of us together weaving the past, the present and the future. This is a building that is all about the students. A student board will run it, determine priorities and have the impact of making sure that it does everything it can for our students.”
The $50 million dollar Armstrong Student Center is expected to open in 2014.
