The Cincinnati Police Department is continuing work on security plans for the various Pride week activities, culminating with a parade and festival.

Assistant Chief Paul Neudigate addressed city council's law and public safety committee Monday.  He said the department is ready and not expecting any problems.

"Our intelligence functions are actively working to make sure nothing comes up on our radar," Neudigate said.  "In addition to the intelligence functions, we will have a very robust police presence at these events of uniformed officers, bike patrol, foot patrol."

Neudigate said similar events in Columbus and Louisville took place this past weekend with no issues.

The Pride events are getting extra police attention after the deadly shooting incident at a gay nightclub in Orlando on June 12th.
