2014 stats from REDI Cincinnati's annual report.

REDI Cincinnati's annual report is out, and the economic development agency says it helped create and retain 8,428 jobs in Ohio in 2014.

Regional Economic Development Initiative president and CEO Johnna Reeder says the agency helped "land 222 projects in 2014. That is almost 15,000 new jobs in the region and $2.8 billion in capital investment."

Looking ahead, she says 2015 is already going well. "We think only better things are to come. We've already have 12 success stories in 2015. That's over 1,500 new jobs and over 1,500 retained jobs."

"We need to be sure we have enough product," Reeder says. "We've been a victim of our own success. We need more sites that are shovel ready; more Class A office space so that we can meet what the market needs are. In addition, we're all tackling workforce development."

Reeder says companies are constantly asking if the region has an educated, ready workforce..

REDI Cincinnati helps businesses get started, relocate, and expand in 15 Tristate counties. It also serves as the Southwest Ohio regional partner for JobsOhio.
