Rep. Mallory pleads guilty to ethics charges

State Representative Dale Mallory pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges he accepted a gift from a lobbyist and failed to report it on his state financial disclosure report.

The Cincinnati lawmaker entered the plea in a Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. The Federal Bureau of Investigation says Mallory failed to report a ticket to a Bengals game he had received from a lobbyist. That lobbyist gave him food and drinks that also went unreported.

The investigation from the FBI’s Public Corruption Task Force resulted in the convictions of former state lawmakers Carlton Weddington and Clayton Luckie, lobbyist George Glover and former lobbyist John Rabenold.

Filing a false financial disclosure report is a first degree misdemeanor in Ohio. The maximum penalty is 180 days in jail, or a $1,000 fine.

Mallory, who lives in the West End and is term-limited out of office this year, represents the 32nd Ohio House District.
