The Response - America's Story

The series The Response - America's Story is a chance for Americans to share realities and reflections with the world - and for the world to tell the stories they want Americans to hear at this pivotal moment. It will present a unique, personal and thoughtful collection of who you are and what matters to you - from work to play, from individual passions to politics, from immediate family to global community.

The Response – America’s Story, Episode 2:
“Tell us your experience of health.” Across the past month, BBC and APM have been gathering unique stories from Americans in response to this question. In the second episode of our series, we’ll hear from a woman who gave her partner a kidney, a Millennial who is proudly uninsured, and a young doctor who aims to upend primary care. Providers and patients from small towns to big cities submitted first-person stories of health via voice memos on their smartphones.

Produced at partner station KCUR in Kansas City, and presented by BBC’s Shaimaa Khalil, this episode offers a diverse collection of voices reflecting human realities of health, one of the major areas of focus of the Trump administration’s first 100 days.

Your next chance to participate is to give your two-minute answer to tell us your experiences of health: whether you're a healthy person, a professional or a patient.

Respond in your own words, record it on a smart phone and send it to theresponse@bbc.co.uk. For more information on how to take part, click here.

Made in partnership between the BBC and American Public Media.
