The Roebling Suspension Bridge has a temporary 3- ton limit after a recent inspection showed some deterioration on the span. Chief District Engineer, Rob Hans says additional analysis and repair is needed before the limit can be lifted.
A report from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says passenger vehicles and pedestrians won't be affected, but commuter trolleys will not be allowed on the bridge. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky has implemented the Southbank Shuttle detour and TANK vehicles are no longer using the Suspension Bridge.?
In September 2007, the cabinet lowered the weight limit to 11 tons for all vehicles.?
