Tamra Ryan Addresses Women's Poverty Issues Through Social Enterprise

bibliocommons.com

In her book, The Third Law, Tamra Ryan explores the challenges chronically unemployed and impoverished women must overcome, both internal and societal, to create new lives for themselves.

She also argues for a more compassionate approach to recovering addicts, convicted felons and victims of social abuse. As CEO of the Women's Bean Project, a social enterprise that offers transitional jobs in gourmet food manufacturing and handmade jewelry, Ms. Ryan has seen first-hand how effective this approach can be. She recently spoke with us about the value of social enterprises and her work at the Women's Bean Project.

Tamra Ryan will be one of the keynote speakers at the Social Enterprise CINCY Summit taking place October 3 at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. For more information and registration, click here.
