Trailer Released For Cate Blanchett’s ‘Carol’

Wikipedia

The first official trailer for “Carol,” the 1950’s love story filmed here last year, has been posted on YouTube to promote the movie release on Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving.

Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara (Cannes Film Festival best actress winner for “Carol” in May) and Kyle Chandler are seen in settings around Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in the one-minute clip. Set in 1952, Blanchett stars as an unhappy married New Yorker pursued by a younger department store clerk (Mara).

Scenes in the video below include the toy department of Frankenberg’s department store created on the second floor of the old Oskamp Nolting department store, 26 W. Seventh St.; a Christmas tree lot in the Eden Park overlook shot on March 12, the first day of filming; and on US 52 near the Beckjord power station in Clermont County.

The exterior of the old Shillito’s department store at Seventh and Race Streets was the exterior for Frankenberg’s.
