Watch Golden Globe Awards With ‘Carol’ Participants

The Weinstein Company

You can share the excitement of multiple Golden Globe  nominations for “Carol” with extras and crew from the film attending a watch party Sunday night.

The free party is open to the public at The Trancept, 1205 Elm St., a recently remodeled old church at Elm & 12th Street in Over-the-Rhine.

Kristen Schlotman, film commission executive director, and “numerous extras” from “Carol” will be there, according to the media announcement.

“Carol,” about two women in love  (CateBlanchett, Rooney Mara) in New York City in 1952, was filmed entirely here in March-April 2014.

The film is nominated for five awards:  Best actress for both Blanchett and Mara; best drama motion picture; best director for Todd Haynes; and best original musical score.

NBC’s coverage of the “The 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards” starts Sunday with a 7-8 p.m. broadcast from the red carpet in Los Angeles, followed by the live awards show 8-11 p.m. (Channel 5). The viewing party starts at 7 p.m., Schlotman says.

Often the Golden Globes are an indication for the Academy Awards.  Oscar nominations will be announced Thursday, Jan. 14.
