CBK Media Management
Kyle Inskeep

Kyle Inskeep from Indianpolis' WXIN-TV will take over Brad Johansen's old anchor shifts starting the week of June 18.

Inskeep, a 2012 Butler University graduate, will co-anchor with Paula Toti at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on WKRC-TV, and the 10 p.m. Local 12 news on WSTR-TV, says Tim Geraghty, news director.

He replaces Johansen, who left Feb. 28 after 26 years to join WRAL-TV in Raleigh, N.C.The station had been without an evening male fill-in for main anchor Rob Braun since Johansen's departure.

Inskeep has been a morning anchor and reporter for Indianapolis' Fox 59 for two years. He covered everything from the 2017 presidential inauguration and Kokomo tornadoes to the Indianapolis 500 and Colts training camp.

A 2012 Tim Russert Fellow, Inskeep spent a year working in the NBC News bureau in Washington, D.C. as a political unit researcher and helping the "Meet the Press" team. He worked two years at WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, Ind., before joining WXIN-TV and sister station WTWO-TV, a NBC affiliate. Both are owned by Tribune Broadcasting.

In an email to the Indianapolis Business Journal, Inskeep wrote: "I will miss so many things about this place — the loyal viewers who always embraced me with a hug when I saw them at the grocery store or at the mall, the Hoosier hospitality, and, of course, my family and friends."

He's also an avid runner who has participated in a number of half and full marathons.
