New version of Evelyn Waugh’s classic British novel, which was originally filmed as an 11-hour PBS mini-series. The film has a nice look, and some good performances, but somehow feels a tad stodgy. Purists will no doubt decry the loss of characters and motivation…after all, it’s been whittled down to two hours.
