Katie Reider: A Celebration

3 Tweets 4 Katie: The World's Largest Tweet-Up
To Honor The Late Musician With The Katie Reider Stage
At Annual Taste of Cincinnati Festival

Cincinnatians are preparing to honor Katie Reider, a beloved icon of the city due to her exquisite music and her courageous fight against a devastating facial tumor, with a memorial stage at Taste of Cincinnati -- May 23-25 -- and with 3 Tweets 4 Katie: The World's Largest Tweet-Up from P&G Gardens at Taste of Cincinnati in Katie's honor.

Katie passed away on July 14, 2008, after battling a rare facial tumor that robbed her of her voice and sight in her left eye but not her will to live. Cincinnati also will name May 23, which would have been Katie's 31st birthday, as Katie Reider Day in Cincinnati.

The goal of 3 Tweets 4 Katie: The World's Largest Tweet-Up is for 500,000 to download her music online.

Playlist and audio for each program will be available the day after broadcast

Katie Reider91.7 WVXU pays a heartfelt tribute to the talent and spirit that was Katie Reider. This talented singer-songwriter passed away in July of 2008 from complications from a rare tumor. Though young, she touched many lives here in the Tri-State and around the country with her personal lyrics and engaging voice. Using live recordings from Katie’s visits to WVXU, Producer Lee Hay has assembled two hours of music and memories of this talented mother, partner, daughter and performer.

The September 7 hour will feature a concert from an afternoon live broadcast on August 25, 1999, and includes music by Katie and Josh Suerkamp, plus an interview. Also featured is a December 7, 2000 concert promoting her concert with Monk at Memorial Hall a week later when her album, No Retakes was officially released. Her brother, Robbie, performed with her during this one, and their conversation about their musical roots will be included.
