The limited-edition anniversary CD will only be available at this year's Cincy Blues Fest and at Shake-It Records, while supplies last.

Cincinnati’s Ludlow Garage will be celebrating its 40th anniversary during this year’s Cincy Blues Fest, but first 91.7 WVXU brings together some of the key players in the Garage’s glory years and some of the music that made it famous.

Host/producer Lee Hay welcomes a roundtable of Ludlow Garage luminaries to talk about the music, people, and times. Owner Jim Tarbell, bookkeeper Margie Hayes, employee Jeff Seireveld, concessionaire Bill Cunningham and Michael Hodesh from Vintage Poster Bank share memories from those times. Music will be intertwined from an upcoming limited edition CD/DVD celebrating the 40th anniversary. Additional comments from Bob Nave, who played at the Ludlow Garage with the Lemon Pipers, and Dale Rabiner of DHR Music Experience round out the hour.

During the August 2nd edition of Around Cincinnati there is more Ludlow Garage talk with Carmon DeLeone sharing his memories of playing there with the Sound Museum, and Jim Tarbell discussing starting the Garage on Ludlow Avenue.

Ludlow Garage’s 40th Anniversary will be celebrated at the annual Cincy Blues Fest on Friday night, August 7.
