The early reviews are quite positive for a trio of movies filmed in Cincinnati – Robert Redford's The Old Man & The Gun, the backwoods Donnybrook fight and Emilio Estevez's The Public.

All three were screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, which ends Sunday Sept. 16.

Every year, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County compiles a list of most popular titles. 

Manager of the Popular Library David Siders says they gather circulation data on the top ten adult fiction, young adult and children's books, and the most popular e-books. 

In her book So We Read On Fresh Air book critic Maureen Corrigan discusses the legacy of The Great Gatsby.  She is also part of the Cincinnati Library's On the Same Page program this year.

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County has released a list of the most popular books in 2014.  They are the titles that were checked out most often between January and November of this year.  (December’s numbers weren’t available.)

Kathy Y. Wilson, author of Your Negro Tour Guide: Truths in Black and White, is the Writer-in-Residence at The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.  She discusses her work as Writer-in-Residence and various events coming up at the library.

Critically-acclaimed Manhattan saxophonist Daniel Bennett is performing a special "Cincinnati CD Release" at the Cincinnati Public Library (800 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio) on Saturday, September 27th at 2pm. The Daniel Bennett Group is celebrating the release of their newest album, Clockhead Goes to Camp. This special concert will feature a duo, with Daniel Bennett on saxophone and flute, and Nat Janoff on guitar. Daniel Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation.
