Martha Holmberg, a La Varenne-trained, award winning food writer has just released Modern Sauces: More than 150 Recipes for Every Cook, Every Day. Mark Perzel talks with the author about the range of recipes in her book, from the well-known marinara and hollandaise, to the more adventurous maple-rum sabyon and coconut-curry spiked chocolate sauce.

With holiday baking comes the awareness of people’s food allergies and dietary restrictions. Jeanne Sauvage has a new cookbook to help bakers navigate one of those restrictions.
