Jorma Kaukonen

As a founding member of Jefferson Airplane and  Hot Tuna, Jorma Kaukonen has had a long career in the music business. Along his journey, not only did he attend Antioch College where he was introduced to  the guitar style of Rev. Gary Davis, but he was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Jefferson Airplane in 1996.

He and his bandmate Jack Casaday are currently on tour as Hot Tuna in support of Jorma's new autobiography, Been So Long: My Life and Music, which is on book shelves Tuesday, August 28th.  The book also includes a 5-track album with live recordings of “Been So Long,” “Song for the High Mountain,” “Broken Highway,” “River of Time,” and “In My Dreams.”

The Blues: 11/12/16

Nov 14, 2016

This week on The Blues, local guitarist/producer Marcos Sastre begins the show with "Pack It Up."  You'll also hear Derek Trucks, the Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule in the first set.  The second set features Jorma Kaukonen, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton.  Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch concert lineup for 2017 is on sale, and most of it seems to have sold out already.  I would have loved to have seen Bruce Cockburn.  I remember standing in line outside Bogart's many moons ago to see him.
