The Newport Branch of the Campbell County Public Library will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War with a presentation of the dramatic Soldier Come Home, a play based on the historic Civil War Letters of Mary Luke Pringle, her husband Philip W. Pringle, and family members, written 1859-1865, presented by the Falcon Theater. Music of the era will be provided by the trio Raison d’Etre. Jim Stump talks with two of the actors, Ted Weil and Elizabeth Molloy, about this historic, and emotional, production taking place on Friday, January 25.
The dramatic tale of Richard II is the next production by the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips joins Jim Stump to discuss this Shakespeare work, how the actors prepare for the historical aspects of this play, and how this production kicks off their first chronological history cycle.
Director Michael Haney and actor Bruce Cromer join Rick Pender to discuss the Playhouse in the Park’s annual holiday production of A Christmas Carol. They talk about how they keep the show fresh now that it’s in its 22nd year, with Cromer portraying Scrooge for the 8th year.
