Books By The Banks 2019

The 13th Annual Books By The Banks Cincinnati USA Book Festival will be held Saturday, October 26 the Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati. Along with more than 100 authors who will talk with patrons and sign copies of their books, there will be author panels and discussions; a kids zone and teen scene with a variety of activities and entertainment; sponsor tables; and an onsite bookstore from Joseph Beth Booksellers.Cincinnati Public Radio will have a table - stop by and say hi to the hosts and staff, sign-up to win a CD or other prize, and let us know what you think about our stations! Teen Writes Comprehensive History Of Kings Island

Though Kings Island's history spans nearly 50 years, the Mason, Ohio, amusement park has never been the subject of a comprehensive telling of its story.

That changed earlier this year with the publication of Kings Island: A Ride Through Time. More interesting, perhaps, than stories about the park's founding by Taft Broadcasting; the visit from TV's The Brady Bunch; or the various thrill rides that have drawn countless visitors over the decades is the fact that its author has been alive for a mere fraction of Kings Island's existence.

Evan Ponstingle was still a 17-year-old senior at Mason High School when he completed the book. Now 18 and working at Kings Island again, Ponstingle can include "published author" on his resume as he heads off to Bowling Green State University to study resort and attraction management.

Ponstingle joins Cincinnati Edition to talk about the book and Kings Island.
