Having trouble sleeping? A free Tuesday, December 3 presentation will explore the extensive benefits of sleep and the unsuspected actions that prevent people from obtaining a good night’s sleep. Dr. Gary Huber will headline the 5:30-7:00 p.m. presentation in the Monarch Theatre at Chesterwood Village in West Chester. He is the medical director of Huber Personalized Medicine in Cincinnati. Following a 20-year career as an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Huber began specializing in integrative medicine. One of his key interests is sleep deprivation. “You are personally responsible for your sleep quality,” he tells his patients. “The quality of your sleep will determine how fast you age. How many wrinkles do you want to have? You are doing things every day that either contribute to good sleep patterns or rob you of good sleep. What are those factors? Learn what you can do to change the pattern and introduce great sleep so that every day of your life is a celebration of great energy, great cognition and great health!! You are the master of your destiny if you choose to be.” Dr. Huber will offer a variety of tips to sleep better. In addition to operating his Cincinnati medical practice, he is a professor at both the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and George Washington University’s Metabolic Medicine Institute for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Huber also serves as an adjunct clinical professor teaching integrative medicine to students and residents at Ohio University’s medical program and the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. “Our staff often suspects a correlation between lack of sleep and declining health,” says Jane Gegner, director of community outreach for the Hillandale Family of Communities. “Dr. Huber has a lot to say about sleep contributing to longevity, clearer thinking and greater energy.” Chesterwood Village, part of the Hillandale Family of Communities, is located at 8073 Tylersville Road. Parking is free. For additional information phone (513) 748-2683.
