Release party for "Optic: a Visual Tribute to the Independent Eye". This riso-printed newspaper (made using completely analogue methods) features 16 local artists and pays tribute to the artwork from the Independent Eye, Cincinnati's underground free press paper (published 1968-1975). Optic is published as part of a year-long Independent Eye retrospective, following an exhibition and panel discussion at the main branch of the Public Library last November. Optic was spearheaded and produced by local artists Mark Neeley and Jon Flannery. Free papers will be available at this release party event, as well as tote bags for sale and light refreshments.
