The Young Voices Behind The Movement

Jason Whitman
Oakley Hyde Park Protest and march in Cincinnati, OH. June 12, 2020.

The mass demonstrations against police brutality that we are seeing nationwide and here locally are largely fueled by young people. Today on Cincinnati Edition we speak to some of the youngest voices among the movement about their activism.

Joining Cincinnati Edition is Klarke Griffith, a Walnut Hills High School graduate who spoke during one of the protests at Cincinnati City Hall and the courthouse.  Also joining the program is Santino Jordan, a Walnut Hills graduate, he spoke during a protest in Hyde Park put on by a Withrow High School graduate. And Ayesha Chaudhry, a Mason High School senior who is part of a group that organized a COVID-safe march in Mason this past Saturday.

You can hear more about youth-led protests on the latest Democracy & Me podcast: The Work Never Stops.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
