The reality of CSI: Cincinnati - a look at the Hamilton County Crime Lab

 

 "CSI" and other police procedural shows brought the mostly behind-the-scenes work of a crime lab into the spotlight, and painted it with a glamorous and exciting brush. But while forensic science is a vital aspect of solving crimes, the meticulous work performed by the toxicologists, firearms experts, DNA analysts, and other scientists in a real crime lab is very different than what is portrayed on prime-time TV. Joining us to discuss how the Hamilton County Crime Lab operates is Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Kode Sammarco.
