SCPA Student Earns $2 Million In Scholarships

Robin Dodd
Mariama Dodd graduated from the School for Creative and Performing Arts in the spring of 2019.

A student at the School for Creative and Performing Arts earns more than $2 million in scholarships to attend college. Mariama Dodd applied to more than 20 colleges during her senior year. She chose Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

Mariama's journey began thousands of miles away in Ghana, West Africa, where she and her sister Grace were born. From a very early age, Mariama had a desire to learn and go to school. She was infinitely curious about the world. When Mariama was eight, the sisters were adopted and came to America.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss her scholarships are SCPA graduate Mariama Dodd; her mother Robin Dodd; and retired SCPA visual arts teacher Althea Thompson.
