Twelve mobile food vendors lined the street along Washington Park Friday as Cincinnati dedicated its newest mobile food vending zone.

Council Member Laure Quinlivan created the program in 2010.  Last year, it was expanded to Fountain Square and the Purple People Bridge.  This year, it's being expanded to Washington Park and Over-the-Rhine.

The OTR vending spot is on 12th Street, near Clay, and is open to food trucks from 6 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.  The Washington park zone is open from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Quinlivan notes that nearly every park in Europe has a place for visitors to eat and drink. That's what she's hoping to see in all Cincinnati Parks, eventually.

More than 28 mobile food trucks now operate in Cincinnati.
